life drifting by and we're back at the ending of the beginning

how many days do i have? i mean really, in everything you do, how much time. walking around in a haze and not enjoying the day. the feeling of warm sun on skin or a cool breeze. the way things look, a sunset, the moon, the mountains, little things, people, yourself. feeling the air rushing into your lungs and all of a sudden it hits you that the whole world is alive, that you're alive. sometimes we forget that we're alive. we get stuck in routines and jobs and unhealthy relationships and houses and cities that just suffocate us, and we forget about everything.

and it shouldn't be like that. we shouldn't have to do things we don't want to, be places that make us die inside. we should be able to wake up in the morning and take a deep breath and stretch out under the covers and just take our time. get out of bed because life is brilliant and awesome and we want to feel and see everything possible. every second should be an experience that we want to remember in one form or another. and think about it. how often does that happen? almost never. i can't remember waking up and wanting to be present with the day. things change, but they don't change enough to shake me out of this... fog. i have to make things change, but i always get intimidated by life. standing up for myself always creates these ripples, and somehow they always touch people i never wanted to include. somehow i'm convinced that if i'm really myself and speak my mind, do what i really want and go where i really want, it'll create this big hole, and a majority of people will disappear. but if people are really that critical, why would i want to associate with them? just because they don't understand and refuse to? it gets to a limit where i stop being understanding about them not being able to handle it.

life is what you make it, when you realize what it is. life? what is this thing except self-discovery and experiencing relationships and learning and feeling all we can and striving to make things better? what is this thing when you don't want to deal with it anymore, want everything to just stop? what is this thing that makes us take a look back and doubt everything we've come to believe? it hits you when you're least expecting it. driving home late at night. noticing something you've passed hundreds of times before. not feeling one damn thing, feeling everything as if it was amplified a hundred fold. laughing for no reason except that something deep inside you was so content and overjoyed that you had to laugh. something that's just on the edge of your memory that you can't get back no matter how hard you try.

and what happens when we do finally wake up? regret or joy? would we take life in our hands and make the most of it, making opportunities for ourselves and being who we really want to be, who we really are, without hesitation or fear. not everything has to be a means to an end. you could do everything that you feel and believe, if everyone else just let you.

i've been conveniently somewhere else for a while, mentally, physically, emotionally. letting others push me and set me on the paths that i've taken in life. what do i have to show for it? more than i could've imagined, in more ways than one. i've always thought too much over the years, over-analyzed everything. took every decision and jumped forward ten steps into the future before i ever made the decision, saw everything that could go wrong and in my mind would go wrong, and so i never did what i wanted. i've been letting other people live my life for me. i've done it for such a long time that it's hard stopping it now, even as much as i want to.

and i'm still here, as much as i predicted i wouldn't be years ago. and i'm glad. i have four people that i truly love, and that would be worth the world. it would be worth lifetimes over, just to be able to love. and i want to be able to spend every second in a state of contentment. i want to always feel safe, and know that no matter what life is worth something.

some people don't know that.

they lock you in a room and throw away the room

i can't really remember what i was intending to write about tonight. probably something to get white space filled in. to speed up the time until i can be somewhere else, being productive. but this is just as productive as anything else, even if i'm not being paid for it.

i've been wanting to buy the crow for a while now. the full moon's on friday, and i fully intend on spending some time just watching it. it's something that i haven't gotten the chance to do in a very long time, and like he said, i don't know how many times i'll get to see it again.

Because we do not know when we are going to die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well and yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood? An afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you cannot conceive of your life without it? Perhaps 4 or 5 times more. Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise ...... Perhaps twenty and yet it all seems limitless. - brandon lee in his final interview

that's all i'm thinking on right now.

enjoy the rain and the full moon. and if you don't catch it this time, there's a blue moon later on.

water signs and falling under the stars

life just kicks you upside the head sometimes when you're not paying attention, you know?

life and life and that feeling that just won't go away. it's like as much as you try, that urging and failing, the stressing and pushing past everything that in essence is so inconsequential, that after everything you find that you're just the same as before, before when you weren't really aware of any of it at all. things change, people change, seconds pass and a new being stands in front of you, with the aura of a familiar soul pulsing (or dying) in the void that is a body. every singe thing is different, yet so much the same. you're a different soul and people don't even know it. most don't recognize. most never take the time to recognize. it feels so weird approaching someone and feeling a completely different aura come over you. it's scary and refreshing at the same time. knowing that you don't know them as well as you did before. and sometimes being able to get to know this person all over again, even if it is only after a span of a month.

so much happens but do we ever realize it before we realize ourselves? it's something to be connected with other people, see the change in them, and yet not see it within ourselves. it's like, a lack of being. just time passing and then waking up a lifetime later. where did everything go?

i want to think that i've changed. that things have changed. that everything's changed. that a change of living space and new friends and responsibilities that i can handle if you don't push me, a new old look and a lack of fresh scars, days filled with class and work and commuting, that everything that i've been supposed to be doing for years, that it's all changed me into that person who could maybe be the stepping stone to real life. i don't know where it goes. when i come back to a house of noise and yelling and suppressed anger, come back to a city where getting drunk is the main focus, hiding and lying and doing stupid things for stupid reasons... everything i feel i've gained just drains from me.

and can i talk about what i really think about? if i start doing that people will run away from me like i'm some disease. it's already happened once, when i said what i really thought people wouldn't touch me for weeks.

i keep talking and thinking why am i telling you this, more importantly why are you still around me even after knowing all this, hearing it directly from me? it's amazing. truly, it is. and for once i've felt like i can actually say what i'm really thinking, without hesitance or regret, without worrying if people will leave me. i guess it helps to know that people are leaving me, but even then, some things don't matter anymore.

i get these little glimpses of what life could be, what it could be but probably won't be... it's just enough to give me an awesome high and then feel horrible afterwards.

but still not enough of a swing to satisfy me.

have i gotten better? better how. i haven't cut in one month exactly. i wanted to a few times, more out of the mindset of a habit than an actual need. but then i just think of you and remember what you said, and i'm ok.

it's easier to make promises to others and stick to them. i've only ever made two promises to myself, and the past year i found myself wanting to break them, just so i wouldn't have to deal with life. but now... and yeah, i don't know what's going to happen in august. i don't know what's going to happen once my support system virtually vanishes, when there's no one to come check on me to make sure i'm still around. but at least i know people are around.

i have more responsibility now. i have to take care of myself. really, truly take care of myself. i have such a contradiction set up in my head that sometimes i don't know what i want. right now i want to rest, and be free from expectations, and be my old new self again.

welcome back to the land of the living. it's been years child, but you've made it. sit down, stay awhile.

insert string of bad writing here

i suddenly had an urge for stream of consciousness. hasn't happened in a while. go figure i would get a kick after reading something talking about depression and fucked up lives...

i'm ok for a while. in the midst of all the driving and walking and yearning to be somewhere that feels safe. the looks from my parents and knowing that they know something but they don't tell me... knowing i know something but i don't tell them? i leave them alone to their own business. it's not my life, not my deal. so why can't they just leave me alone? i don't like the looks and the treating me like a child. i haven't seen them practically for three weeks, and it's been good. and that's odd.

i want to keep writing, writing doesn't come often. kicking people out of computer labs and into a campus where everything closes early and no one really wants to help you with things. i'm tired i want to be back already.

i wrote two pages on sunday before i talked to you. i think i'm going to burn it now... i hate writing on paper because that makes it real, and some things i don't want to be real. i don't want to admit things and have them become real... even though they've probably been here for this whole six years.

scary thoughts, remembering back. remembering emotions and situations and thinking how far i've come, and yet how much i keep myself in the past. the past is the past is the past. i like being in the present.

cold. it's cold in the buildings. sitting here... i want to watch the stars and be alive again.

miss you.

sorry... wrong trajectory

i haven't listened to flickerstick in a forever. he sounds so good...

i'm tired and i want to be home. being away is good to make me see how much i miss. just the little things. the places. the people.

ah, the people. so much has happened. so much has changed in the past six months, did we ever see it coming? i've always felt like i'm just sitting on the sidelines watching it happen, but then i look back and see that i'm in a different place too.

i scared myself badly last night. it was one of those times when i was just letting life take me as it passed by, but then i wanted to get out of the slipstream... freaking about things i can't control. thinking that the only time i feel safe is when i'm with you people, when i'm with you, and when august rolls around... it scared me. every time i think i'm doing ok, i think about something like that again.

it's so weird when it just creeps up on me. one second i'm ok, the next i'm thinking damn why didn't i bring those blades with me. but i know why. it's because i don't want to have to do that again. i don't want it to become a habit. i've been good for three weeks (which doesn't say all that much considering it was five months before). i've got someone else to keep in mind. it's... easier now.

don't mind me. i'm just still trying to figure everything out.

cripes, i have so many things that i have to think about, but right now i'm just letting myself rest. stop freaking out for a few days.

real posts to come. i promise.

hippy dippy do

i'm just on the edge of being broke and being a functional adult. how... frustrating.

i'm home for exactly one day. saturday. as in tomorrow. the fifth of june.

i'm tired, and wired, and finantially stable...ish, and really really out of it. shit i meant to write an actual post tonight but i'm just too tired.

please, i need to see you people tomorrow.

afraid to be gone

i have three days left. three days and then i'll be gone for three weeks, but once i drive out of this city i never will really come back. at least not to the same place that i left. i haven't seen people in almost a week, and i don't know what to do with that. i haven't really had to "cope" or start again or anything like that since i've just been sitting in my bed, holding onto the thought that tomorrow will come and the weekend will be here and i'll be able to sit among all my friends again just like before, before when i was ok and you were ok and i could talk to you and not feel like i'm keeping you from something more important. but now it's just me talking on a computer screen into a blank void. does anyone listen anymore? i have no idea. i don't see people for a week and it's like they just... disappear. and i don't want anyone to disappear but i don't have a choice in the matter, in fact i don't know why they kept me around so long in the first place.

why did you keep me around? i don't like thinking of you. i don't like missing you. i don't like the fact that i have no idea what's going on in your head. every time i see you again it's like i'm a different person. from weekend to weeknight to weeks ahead. no one talks about the awkwardness of it all, the whispers, the un-invitations. no one talks about the person sitting all alone while everyone else just goes on with what they were doing.

and shit, why can't i feel anything? i could always feel at least that little something, whenever you would walk in a room i would feel safe again. has it changed? i don't know. i haven't seen you in a forever. and will i ever see you again?

and what if i never see you again? what then?

i don't like thinking in terms of three people. i know i have to stop it, and stop it quick, but it just isn't happening.

things have to get fixed. i have to get fixed. but i have a feeling that when i come back, everyone else will be gone. they won't get to see the good me, the un-broken me. no one will see me. do people see me now? i think i'm disappearing. i've always wondered what it would be like to disappear.

every time i tried to disappear, you were there to catch me. the last time you weren't there, he was there. you're both gone, you're all gone, and i don't know if i want to catch myself.

the scars are damn near healed. haven't told everyone about that yet. don't know if i should. last time didn't turn out at all. weston at aware didn't even mention them though, even with them there in plain sight. it was good though.

i got my one piercing for the year. i don't think it's going to do anything for me though, seeing as how i've been on the whole dead to all feeling for the past three weeks. i don't know. i just don't know.

i've been waiting on here for someone to get online. just so i could talk to another person and not seem like, like what, like i'm an obligation or something. i have to go into town tomorrow, and i really want to see you people, but then i'd just be the little girl who can't function on her own again.

i just want to feel safe again.

ibuprofin=goooood

so far i have experienced the joys of cracked out dreams while on pain killers and lots and lots of soup and v8. v8 is really good when you haven't really eaten anything in a day.

anyway.

i thought for some reason last night that i didn't have to take an ibuprofin for bed. i felt fine (i'm actually really amazed at how good i feel, considering there's a few holes in my mouth and i cannot suck, spit, or otherwise disturb them). but nooo, i wake up in the middle of the night with a nice aching feeling. so i took an ibuprofin with the penecillin at 6 this morning and slept till 11:30 or so.

moral of the story: always take the pain killers. even if you think you have an awesomely high pain tolerance, you don't, so just take the pills and pass out.

i watched my first full episode of enterprise last night, thanks to brian, and now i'm confused as all hell on what alien is who. i don't know if he looks like a reman, but brian's theory behind it all seems to work out nicely. i was just thinkin that the guy looked oddly like that species that they kept running into on v'ger (starts with an h... the hunters... they made holographs for them to hunt... i need to brush up on my facts...) (the hirogen! i knew i'd remember...eventually).

cripes now i'm on a startrek rant.

i really want to get out today, seeing as how i have three or so days to get everything together before i go to cruces. but then again i really don't want to drive yet, and seeing as i need the practice i'll probably be made to.

wow. i'm not even making sense to myself anymore.

must drink more v8.

odd doesn't even begin to explain it

ah, the yelling has started again. wondered what took so long. at least i'll be gone for the majority of it soon, and the rest of the time before then i'll be asleep or off in a pain pill wonderland.

so far i've surfed with ie (which doesn't crash every five minutes like it did on xp. ha.), and now i'm checking out safari. things learned: everything that i've coded that i didn't think would work on other than ie, doesn't work. popups? no popups please, and i don't even have the google toolbar. and the ads on the tripod sites? not there with safari. ah, how awesome.

for everyone who has no idea what i'm babbling about - i got my mac yesterday. so of course i haven't been out really since then. i should probably check my voicemail...

interesting thing that's in my mind since i don't really have anything to write:

not the most excruciating thing i've experienced. hitting my helix piercings on that damn ride at the state fair is and will probably always be the worst pain i'll ever experience.

great. he leaves, and yet the yelling continues. yeah, i love living in this house in the summer.

i still have to track down people and get their pictures and songs and quotes from them, but as this day is not looking good right now i have no idea when that will happen.

there's way too much freaking out going on in this house right now. i'll get back on when people leave. off.

dead eyes, are you just like me?

it's been... five months, nine days. at least, i think that was the last time. for some reason i was thinking it was closer to new year's. it still might've been, and i just didn't hint at it in here like i usually do.

the anticipation. five months of anticipation. of days in class having to poke myself with a safety pin to dissipate the urge. nights of driving home crying, intent on doing it when i got home. telling myself no, you're not going to do it, you don't have to do it, and besides, you haven't been able to do it when you've wanted to.

i couldn't feel anything last night. not a damn thing. i remember now why i liked getting on those damn pills in the first place... i wasn't so tired anymore, and i felt things, i could remember and think normally and speak normally. the last two weeks have been bad, and now i'm back where i was three years ago. and i hate it. i couldn't feel anything. and so i wanted to see if i could feel something again. and i did. for a split second it was awesome. and then the next second it's just like a scratching pain on skin. and not even a painful pain. just... dull.

i knew it would happen, i just figured i had one more week before it started again. go figure. my timing has been really bad the last month. first the pill, then schoolwork, the yearbook, the car, the piercing, cruces, then that... whole situation that i still can't understand, and now this.

everything's ended, so everything's started. i'm leaving by the first, and i don't know what things are going to be like when i get back. can't dwell on it though.

for everyone i've inadvertently hurt the past month, i'm sorry. it won't happen again. i'll make sure of it.

by starlight i know you

i've been on a smashing pumpkins trip for the past week. it works for any mood recently.

over.

i'm so insanely tired, yet i wake up at something like 7:30 every morning for the past week. what's that like four five hours of sleep? ah well i'm making up for when i get my wisdom teeth out next week and will sleep for two days straight.

not sure about getting the piercing this thursday... i have really bad luck with timing. damn doyle.

must stalk people in the next few days and get their songs and quotes. i have everyone's senior pictures from senior slide show, so if nothing else i can just bullshit what i have.

i think i'm finally starting to calm down.

wondering if my dad will punish me for the first time for being fifteen minutes late for curfew. even though i tell them there should be a fifteen minute grace period, to account for the fact that i will not speed at night and get another $180 ticket.

last night was... what was the point of all that again? sitting there listening to mikey made me wonder what took me so long to stop being catholic.

that was the first time i've been in a church for over a year. it didn't feel good.

no sleep, low blood sugar, and stupid stupid hormones make me very very dull. mbah. must work on pictures.

life revolving around something that i don't want to admit is there

it seems as though i'm trying to procrastinate for the very last time. i've been all wound up since thursday, and knowing that i have to give a speech just made me start shaking. i'm sitting here and my fingertips are freezing, and i can feel that i'm tense and on the edge of some sort of breakdown, and that i need to just relax and let things just wash away. but as much as i know it, i can't do it.

it's weird, and i do this all the time. i know that something's wrong, or illogical, or whatever else, and i just can't get over it. high school is over, i can finally get out of it all, and yet i'm still so wound up over all the childishness of it all. i've been saying for the past couple weeks that i feel like such a child in the midst of everyone else's lives. everyone goes on, and has a goal, or at least goes somewhere, and i'm a scared little girl who doesn't want anything to change. i keep telling myself that i can finally relax, and really have a good time, just chill out and live life as it comes to me. but then i come back to this house, to this life and i'm pulled in again. yesterday. i finally just jumped back into bed and pulled the covers close to my face and cried because i was so tired. i knew that i had other things that i had to do, but i just couldn't do it. i couldn't write anything decent for a speech, i couldn't drive, i couldn't please. i fell asleep and woke up with a start an hour and a half later. late for kyle and daivd's party. and i freaked.

i want to stop freaking out. i don't actively aim to please, but yet i find myself doing things for other people. thinking that shit, i didn't even try to get second in the class for myself. but to say that, that would be letting other people down.

i'm such a hypocrite.

safety is leaving me in two weeks. i'm so ready, and yet i'm so scared. why? scared that i'll fail, because that's my biggest fear. not death or betrayal or ailment, but failure. but i know that people love me, and that no matter what happens people will still be there for me. and it makes things ok again. that is, when i'm not freaking out.

i find that i can't write if i'm not on this blog. i have one hour to write my speech, so maybe i'll be able to just write here and something will come out.

...

how about that

and i didn't even have to go looking for things to make me dislike the new blogger. it did it all by itself.

i think i shall finally look into mt.

Thursday, May 13, 2004

bored?

i'm not really feeling the new blogger interface. i actually liked the square corners and block colors. plus this whole trying to be mt thing is kinda creeping me out.

i've been wanting to code this index page for a while now, i've just never gotten around to sorting out the css and deciding if i want to still do tables. last time i tried to do anything with code i ended up making so many tables it amazed me to the point of wanting to try and teach myself how to javascript again. but i'm still trying to make myself make the switch to mac. or, i'm trying to convince my dad that i should make the switch to mac. it's getting closer... he finally can relate to my dislike of windows.

anyway.

right before the blogger relaunch i found a site that will do image hosting: imageshack. i was actually doing a search for another free website [hosting] so that i could upload pictures for other people's blogs to it. tripod apparently is now in agreement with its sibling angelfire and no longer allows image linking from tripod sites. so i went on my search and temporarily solved the problem.

and then this new blogger with rounded corners comes out and behold: image hosting with hello. which of course only workes for pc, so i never intend to get myself hooked on it. but i might have to look into it for other people, seeing as how i'm planning on doing a total overhaul on all my sites and deleting a bunch of my files.

thing one: i like heading tags. i don't like putting text or whatever in a box and having some machine code it for me when i know how to do it (i say as i use blogger...).

thing two: i spent a good deal of time researching commenting systems. spending two days waiting for an opening to sign up for yaccs before they closed membership. finding haloscan and being totally pissed off by enetation. and now comments are included. do they let you ban ip addresses? have stats? organize comments? i have to look more into that.

i'm tempted to make another tests blog just to try out all the new stuff they added, to see what exactly will make my browser crash and if blogger still does indeed eat many many posts. i might do that now that i have time.

six apart has been doing some updating on mt, so i hear. maybe i'll make the move now that i'll have a decent stream of money to pay for web hosting. or i could just use typepad. or tabulas (found through the comments at lyd). but then again i haven't been writing all that much lately.

i got my bme/e2 access today, which oddly hasn't helped much at all. probably because i've been spending 2-3 hours on bme and other sites researching for the past week or so. which reminds me.

ugh. no more school. i'm drained, and i just want to get out and be with people before i have to leave. because when i come back, everyone else will be busy or gone, and then everyone will be gone. i just want a couple days with you people.

i think i just got the highest physics grade this semester. all my work actually paid off. pleased.

and for anyone that reads this, and will be participating in the digital yearbook thing i'm attempting to put together - please get me your picture, song, and quote as soon as possible. bring them to katie's party. but if you want to see this thing done by next week, i need them yesterday.

that is all.

breathing under water and living under glass

why isn't this working why isn't this working why isn't this working why isn't this working?

i should've gotten off of those damn pills months ago. i'm so fucking out right now i don't know what to do with myself. it's like twitching and cracking and freaking all over again. manic and pissed and everywhere and i want to go and be anywhere doing anything just so i don't have to sit down i can't sit down. i want to write and write and write but it's not fucking coming and i don't know what to do with myself anymore. i can't hear what i'm supposed to hear or do what i'm supposed to do, so just get off my fucking back and stop wanting me to do what you want.

and i don't want to be a fucking dull grey shell again. i hate this so much but i don't want to not feel anything. freaking is better than just sitting and not thinking and not feeling. be someone do something get out of your head and crush everything that doesn't help.

maybe i should make it a point to visit mark tomorrow.

right now i want to be so out of it, and so intensely in it at the same time. i want to be used. then i'll feel something at least for a while.

be me? be me. look out you fucking bitch of a body. and i swear, if you level me off and make me dull to everything, i'll have to kick some sense back into you.

somebody tell me if i am sleeping

i think i've been putting off doing this for a while.

i was looking at the stars last night, in between crying and being dizzy and trying not to crash my car on the highway. so beautiful. one of those times when i think "there's a reason why i had to be out tonight". i saw eternal sunshine, and it really, really hit me. because what do i have? memories. and if i didn't have memories, i wouldn't be anyone. not really. i've only just started to live life moment by moment. hey, maybe i'm a late bloomer. maybe i just figured out that i'm letting my life pass by without holding onto anything except people, and now those people are going to be gone in the immediate future. i have to start being me.

i wasn't going to cry on friday. i thought that it would be so ridiculous to cry, and i was still so jaded from the past six years that i wasn't going to give any of those people the satisfaction of thinking they "got through to me". i wrote one journal entry, the first in something like two weeks, the night before. saying how i could try to write, but it would be pointless to try and make up twenty journal entries. and i cried. i cried because i admitted to myself that i didn't feel the need to write anymore. that i couldn't just pick up a pen or get on the net and write what i was thinking, because my mind is such a fog anymore. i didn't want to let go, to say that i'm stopping, because i don't know what i'll do if i don't write. but i did. i let go.

and then friday came. i really disliked all the retreats, and i knew what this one was so i was setting myself up to be even - nothing was going to get to me. i got the letter i wrote to myself in seventh grade. i couldn't remember if i did end up writing that i was never going to read it, because i was going to die long before 12th grade. i remembered how pissed off i was that day. and i can't figure out why i didn't write that. too scared probably. i ripped up the letter.

i was going to burn all the letters without ever reading them. i've already been through that whole thing before, except the first time there was more, and they were all in a religious context. but i read all of them, just because people took the time to write them. and almost all of them were so... fake. these people who don't know me, don't know anything about me except my grade, they all assume everything about me. and when i'm myself around them, they get angry at me. like i'm some sort of bad influence on the rest of the family. if they only knew.

but they don't want to know. and i don't want to tell them. so we're even.

people were crying. and for once, i was fine. at least, i think i was. i was hoping that i wouldn't have to confront anything with anyone, because i didn't want to let go yet. i just wanted to be left alone, so i could pretend for a while that everything was fine.

i'm still trying to figure what it was. it could've been that i'm just an emotional wreck at random times. maybe it was seeing everyone else. maybe... because it felt like you were saying goodbye to me.

and then everything that i didn't want to confront just hit me at once. and it did it again last night. except... except that was more real. my actually admitting to jess that i'm scared out of my mind. me, admitting to myself, that i'm not ok. that i don't know how to make things ok anymore. that i'm afraid i might do something really stupid next year.

i think way too much. i over-analyze everything that could happen to me. and everything that i just let happen... it's like i'm floating in the stars. not expecting anything, not wanting anything, makes everything so much... better. like, i've finally accepted myself for me, and that people stay around me for me.

of course that comes and goes too. but when i do feel it...

self-esteem is such an odd thing. being me is something that i've always had a hard time with. i wouldn't want to be anyone else, it's just that sometimes i want to be just slightly different. maybe sometimes not so crazy. not passive. not needing to be secure so much. not being so deathly afraid of being rejected. and then this year... accept me for who i am. i think the whole idea of piercings and tattoos has really, helped me, be secure with the skin i'm in. like, finally feeling that my soul is beautiful, and because of that, physical appearance doesn't matter. i am the way i should be. anything that i add is just another part of the physical me. it's amazing how more aware i am of feeling and seeing other people now. there's a story behind scars and acts. and there's an even more important person behind those things. get to know the soul before you look at the appearance. if i can feel a person's soul, they look beautiful, because they are beautiful, no matter what insecurities they have about their physical appearance.

i'm rambling now. another way to get away from what i was wanting to say. but that's part of it. i can't write down what i mean anymore. the really weird part... for once i think i can actually talk about it. and even weirder, i want to. i need a dialogue more than i need a one way conversation with my crazy self on a computer screen.

i'm at an odd place right now, where i want to be open with people. odd because i am so afraid of being rejected by people. i guess knowing that you're loved does weird things to you.

well, obviously.

i'll have more, much more to say, but i want to talk about it out loud first.

all i'm asking for now is for someone to listen.

i'm trying to focus but my eyes deceive me

one week left with too much to do that i'm probably not going to end up doing. that's ok. sleep is more important.

i should be freaking out about the whole yearbook thing, but i'm not. i guess i figure i'll somehow get it done in two days or something.

i realized last night, again, that i really, really don't like being cold.

i have to do my poem book for wednesday, so all creative thoughts must go into that. and i could possibly be drained after that too. we'll see how it all works out.

might go on a break. don't know. maybe just disappear for a while.

i feel fine.

well then

let me first say that i really, really appreciate any comments that i get on my posts. i want to be critiqued as a writer, and leaving my comments script on my blog is the only way i can get some constructive criticism from the handful of people who visit here regularly. or irregularly. either's fine by me.

but it seems i must address this subject. again.

i'm totally up for free speech. people can say whatever they want. but as the owner of this blog, i can use my right to delete comments that i think aren't constructive to anyone, and if anything resemble the startings of a flame fest.

i'm all for criticism. if i didn't want criticism, i wouldn't have comments. but constructive criticism, not comments based on who you think i am, personally. i think about three or four people can adress me very personally in the comments, and that's because they're around me every day. i hate things being pushed on me, because someone has a skewed idea of who i am. and this is "the person", not "the little things of the person at the time that i present them online".

and maybe i am overreacting to this whole thing. maybe i'm reacting personally rather than unbiased, like i do to everything else on the net. in fact, i know i'm reacting personally.

but then again i see those comments and it seems to me that you're reacting personally also.

chris, you're right. you have a right to free speech, and i shouldn't bitch about it. but, you know, instead of just disagreeing, you could suggest something i could do to change my situation.

kind of like, oh, i don't know, constructive criticism.

to everyone who has bothered to read through this whole post, thank you. and your comments are still greatly appreciated.

especially to shadow and error, whose comments have really helped me to focus on what i really am trying to say/write.

and of course to alex, kyle, and brian.

there's some linkage to tide you (and me) over for the next 2-3 weeks, seeing as how i have too much homework to do and no creative streak to allow me to write.

off.

always turns you blue

i stopped writing in my creative writing journal.

i don't know why i feel the need to say that, except that i started this semester with optimism, with the firm idea that by writing every day i'd eventually be able to break through the wall and be... well again. what is it? if you do something for 23 or so days straight, then you've created a set routine and you'll always be able to do it. write every day and soon it won't be a challenge to write every day.

it's nothing anymore. i was so tired two weeks ago that i decided not to write one night. and then the next. and then the next. to a point where i don't even think about the possibility of writing daily. well, obviously. i haven't posted in over a week. and i remember when not posting for a week was such a hard thing to do.

it really hit me hard on friday. you write a line, i write a line, but every single word of mine seemed to defile the words that you wrote. and i thought why do you keep doing this, you're just holding him back. i thought there was a time when i could write like that, and now i can just read him and be totally amazed and overwhelmed. in a good way. and at the exact same time think i've lost it for good.

and i think, i'm just walking around in a totally grey being. you know, i'm not here like i was before. like every time when something really good happens, blue moments are followed by a stream of tears. i have my theories, and my beliefs, and at the same time it's just... futile. why do i bother with school? why did i ever bother with school? it's come to the point that now, now that i'm just done, i can't let go of it at all. i can't go from getting A's to getting a D.

and all of this isn't making sense anymore.

i realized last week that my vocabulary has gotten horribly horrible. and it disgusted me. when the only things that come out of my mouth are "that's hard core!" and "holy shit" and "awesome". it made me so disappointed. that i've come to a point in my life where i feel the need to answer people, to fill silence with stupidity. there's a reason to not talk much, so that when i do say something, it means more.

and now, ever since i wrote the story, the last thing that was decent, i can't do it anymore. i waited three months to be able to cut again. three whole months of telling myself that i had to be scar free on stage. that it would be unprofessional to compromise a production like that, 'cause it's a team, it's bigger than you. and i had it planned, the whole week before, when it was almost unbearable, that the last night i would give myself the release. but it just wouldn't happen. i was too grey that night. and it didn't happen that saturday. and i was so fed up with myself, that i didn't feel the need to do it, not because i was ok but because i was too grey, i was so fed up that i decided to write about it. i never intended other people to know. i never intended anything out of it. and i certainly as fuck didn't intend that i'd never be able to do it again.

it's what, a month later? and what's the excuse now. prom. and why? because this time, it's going to mean something. setting myself up for disappointment.

disappointment. i'm disappointed that i don't have any scars. every cut and scrape that was made unintentionally, the one on my ankle from where they put the iv when i was born, the long cuts on my knees from just being a kid, the ones on my hands from burns and cat scratches, the second surgery iv line on my left hand, the two separate scars that look like i got a c-section (that the doctor made so they/it can't be seen in a bikini... not that that's a problem). all those are now unwanted. the increasing idea was that, with a tattoo, with that tattoo, i'd have the visible scar. the visible modification on my body, more than metal those can always be taken out. with this visible symbol, i wouldn't feel the need to cut anymore. that i'd be past that lifetime. and now... now i want the scars. scarification vs. tattoos, it's a weird contrast. and it's hard to explain, since in my head it doesn't get explained, just understood without words.

and... i don't want to force myself on the people i love. i don't want to feel that they're listening to me out of courtesy, that i'm this thing that they're forced to deal with.

and i just want to be able to be myself again. i want to write.

burn the life right out of the stars in my eyes

it's weird, driving on a crowded city street, window open, thunder rumbling, cd blasting, and feeling that you're so terribly alone. to know that somewhere in the same city, somewhere close, your best friends are living out their lives, doing something, going somewhere, being someone. and all i want to do is keep driving. maybe lay on top of my car and let the rain fall on me. kind of like a rebirth in the past moments. i get so bitter and tired when i'm not around people. it gave me a reason to get out of bed today. to put on a pair of jeans and my black shirt and my black dm's, and somehow feel good about feeling so horrible.

what was up about last night. i don't know. i don't know. me not being somewhere with anyone just made me feel even worse, so that i not only felt sick, i also felt over-emotional and hung up over what will never be. i'm supposed to be writing poetry. i'm supposed to be doing my econ project and my calc worksheet and memorizing physics project stuff and writing poetry. but my mind just shut down after tuesday. and now this whole weekend is shot.

there's not enough time to do everything, so why do anything. i need to let me go.

everything i write seems so... forced. all of my poetry seems forced and it's just like before, just turning in complete shit because it doesn't matter anyway. nothing's helping. last week was some kind of a fluke, and now i'm paying for it. i'm so tired of the high school drama. i'm tired of people expecting me to come through for everyone else, expecting me to go with the flow and not cause any problems. i wanted to scream at the rat to let me leave and never bother me again, because obviously you're not listening to anything i say. you're just saying how stupid i am and how i have such a big problem and it was a cry for help and blah blah blah. but i was having a good week so i took it. i took it and i let her talk to me like i was some kind of idiot. but apparently she's against piercings and tattoos, and against abortion, and against si, so i felt so much better about disliking her, because anything i claim to and can carry on conversations about, she's against. so. but nothing's happened so far. and if it's up to me nothing ever will.

and as much as i need to be angry, i'm not. as much as i need to just totally abandon everything, i can't.

i hate talking to myself on a computer into the internet. i hate it because it's the only place i can talk. and apparently it's the only place i can write.

cripes i can't do this anymore. i think i should rethink my stance on everything.

i forgot to post this as i had been wanting to since two weeks ago.

badgers. compliments of weebl, as in weebl & bob.

the senses and the mind

today i was basically told that almost all of my beliefs about life and who i am are stupid.

i can't find any official literary symbolism for a rat, but i'd think it would have a very, very bad connotation.

anyway...

even if you're not into body mod, i have to recommend you the articles at bme. they're all really interesting (at least, to me they're really interesting).

two: sh1ft.org just came out with the new project: q&a: the photographic interview. i missed out on the 26 things scavenger hunt back in november because my camera was temporarily dead, but i think i'll totally do this one. if you like photography, or just have a digital camera that you want to play with (or one of those kodak fun cameras) go for it. see what you can find in the world you usually ignore.

i think this high i've been on will abruptly end in a couple hours, and i don't know if i'll get this back in the next month, or months for that matter.

depending on how things happen tonight i might take the blog offline for a while. hopefully it won't come to that, but i always expect and plan for the worst. so.

off for homework.

beauty is a state of mind

i use that phrase too much. or maybe it's just so perfect.

have i mentioned how good this week has been?

i went to fallen angel today after school and had another awesome talk with sawbones. honestly, this is the kind of guy i'd want to have all my work done by. he's great about being truthful to you and telling you (young people, that is) that tattoos will affect you later on in life, mostly job-wise, even if you think nothing matters now when you're young. the wrist is a highly visible place, and i know that. and i would be totally open to covering it up if my employer wanted that (my cover-up idea was to make a wristband/bracelet with the same design silk screened on it). i've thought of that a lot over the past year, and actually wanted people to see it. it's gonna be a part of me, so you should see me.

anyway, sawbones and chris both agreed that it would be a lot better if the design was bigger, bigger design would have more clarity now and as time goes on, plus it would be easier to do. so they scanned the design and printed it bigger and showed it to me. and i have to say, it looks just as awesome bigger as it did small. bigger though, i couldn't get it on my wrist. i could get it on my upper forearm (right below elbow), and they suggested other placements for it. i honestly never thought about another placement for it than my wrist. i've just always seen it there. but it does look good bigger. suggestions were: lower back, forearm (as said), calf, pelvis area. i really want to see the tattoo every day, so lower back is out (for now. it would look good there). i never thought of having it higher on my arm than my wrist, so the forearm thing will have to be thought about... in depth. i really dislike calf tattoos (have i mentioned how much i dislike large leg pieces? kind of on the same wavelengh as surface piercings), so that's an immediate no. pelvis area - no one will see it ("you could show it off in a bikini" yeah uh-huh sure...). it's a really good canvas to work with, it's just that i really want this to be a visible tattoo. plus, i don't in any way show off my body. i'm the kind of thinking "if you've got it, flaunt it", and i don't have it. i'm not into the low-rise pants and the bathing suits and the "check out my thong!" or anything of that sort (granted, that's halfly my doing, being so lazy and all, halfly my big hunk of a woman german genes. gotta love you grams).

the only reason why i talk about the last scenario is that it's the only other one that's quite plausible.

so, the dilemma!

no back, my back is definitely too messed up and scarred for any work any time soon.

no legs, ankles, feet. creep me out.

no bicep, too hardcore for this piece.

no stomach/belly/whatever you call it, too expensive (double) plus the showing it off/visibility thing that won't happen as i "don't got it".

you know the design. any advice on where would look good/work for me is greatly appreciated, because i am definitely getting this tattoo.

all this hasn't brought me down at all. the bigger design does look awesome, and it's always good to go bigger.

something else made me really happy today. like, take a huge weight off my shoulders happy. i think i might've wished it though, what with all my anxiety over the decision the past three weeks. i think when i get the letter i'll just tell my parents "it doesn't matter" and burn it. see what they do.

i didn't mean to post non-"writing" posts this week, but this is just so good and in my mind that i had to.

while i'm on this non-"writing" post... i bought a crow left of the murder on monday and i'm really into it. it's really helped put me in a chill mood.

mmm. off for food and physics homework.

make revolutions in your heart and mind

smash break and snap in two. what the hell? think of the rhythm, the pure beat and backbone to the art. insane and love and music and tattoos and piercings and person underneath it all.

dom's left the band.

what? huh? no! noooooooooo! snap out. life is life is life and people move on. good on ya. may life and love and prosperity see you throughout your days.

i don't listen to doosu. who is this todd anyway?

snap back. cross that bridge when we come to it.

a two brownie day with no physics and a desire to write and write and write and then look back at what was written and then write some more. life isn't tainted, at least not this week, at least not so far. anticipation and aggravation and letting it all float away in the warm sunlight and comforting riffs.

sexy and smooth and warm breezy nights, stars and not a care in the world. this song sounds so sexy. the kind of song you listen to a new cd one time through and the track stays in your head. a swaying salsa hips in a slow vibe.

what is this relaxedness. it feels so nice to the chest and neck and wrist. gliding on my skin and the tip of my tongue. better than brownies because i don't want myself to have chocolate or sugar. like coffee or a glass of cold milk. smooth fluid texture, pleasing chill taste.

if paint were my medium i'd want warm colors. warm and swaying and soft swirls. it looks like the rays of sun and the changes of color. i want to be able to paint a picture of an emotion so i can look back on it and say that's what it looks and feels like. do you remember? be the painting and fall back into the lifetime.

like not wanting to be someone else. a wall of paintings. books of words. you can point and say this is me. look around you, this is me. how awesome would that be.

is this feeling what it means to be high on life.

hold on to it as long as i can. little things throw me off, but not today. be in the moment. be in the life.

i want to paint a mask of stars and moons, on blue and black ground, with sunburst and metal and lotus petals. silver spirals and this feeling of serenity. but is that me. i don't know if i'd be lying. that is me right now. i change with my moods and thoughts and feelings. who knows who i'll be next wednesday. i had a vision of a mask with razor blade cuts, but i don't know if i'm artistic enough to own that. tears and scars and black and rain and locks with no keys, self imposed chains that are a part of my skin. what now. it changes so readily i seldom get a chance to reflect objectively. i want to do both, do both and right now.

i haven't seen motivation in months. feels good. i want to write and create.

it's coming. i can feel it coming. don't let me lose it. please i can't go back there. please. this feels so good.

i'm writing something and it feels so good. i don't know which way worked it, but i want this lifetime to last forever.

i wish someone could see me right now.

leave propriety out of this

had a week of a week, a lifetime of rest and restlessness, winding up my body like a top and then letting it slowly melt away. a rush of exhiliration and heat and twitching pissed-offness. you don't know me don't know me don't know me i'm not doing this for you. the confusion and the overpowering desire to just get it over with. but interviews and tank tops and people get in the way. to write, to write, to wait it out and drown slowly in the ever rising emotions and assertions. cold and hot and oh so tired. leave me alone. i'm on top of the world. i'm fading out of existence. leave me alone. i can't say, i can't say, since everything i say takes away everything i live for. life and the warmth of sun on skin, light passing through eyelids, relaxed driving in a crowded road, being exactly where i need to be in the moment, smooth music gliding over my body and through my mind, a pure embrace and soul of clarity. peace and peace and peace. write because you mean it, write because you feel it, don't bullshit yourself or anything else, be pure, be real. it's not like you're going to be here ever again.

snap in two and look down to see cold fingertips shaking, arm twitching. leave me be. hot and cold and i don't want to be here, let me go just let me go. let me slip out pass out into another plane and i'm gone. irritated. angry. leave me alone. i can't take care of myself, i can take care of myself. this is me, me, get it through your head. my body is mine own, it's the only thing i have. this is me. let me at least be me for me. i don't need your permission. it's not a disease, it's not a problem, it's not a product. it just is. and now i can't do it any more, thank you very much. and what then after? after? when? when is not soon enough. it needs to be now. and what then? putting an experience on a pedistal never works out how you want it. downplay everything. downplay sex and jobs and college and words and feelings and piercings and tattoos and parties and birthdays and days off and downplay everything. take it all as one even line. what? it's not the answer to your problems (not problems you have no problems) it's just another mod in your skin to make you more you. so why not just do it now?

good question. ups and downs have gone from extreme back to dull with little bouts of life. i don't like the dull. i'd rather when it was crazy, when i felt horrible and awesome and back to horrible. at least that was real. i'm getting off these damn pills. they make me crazy. going to a doctor won't help. doctors are incompetent, especially in my case. i'm good for a case study, if anyone cared enough when they were so fucking generous in taking one ovary. i don't want pills. i don't want talk. i just want to stop being avoided. and if not stop being avoided, why don't you just leave me altogether. disappear and fade from your life forever.

what? writing is writing is writing. i don't want to do school. i block out everything except cw. i want to block out everything except cw. work is only beneficial when one wants to learn.

starry night and warm breeze, swaying to the music of souls on the same color, feeling your touch and feeling your soul. i'm safe and not tired anymore. lifetimes pass. is this what death is like?

it's just time to go out
and scream from the top of the moon
one more time

well, what do i say.

i was able to write a really awesome piece of prose two sundays ago. it was the cw assignment that we had to do for exams, and i didn't want to write a bad piece again (i've pretty much blown off all of our assignments so far), so i figured i'd just sit down and write, write like i used to when it all came so easily.

it didn't come very easily. some lines were strained, a lot of pauses were made in the process of writing a one and a half page "story" in the notebook that i currently do all letter and story type writing in. i had to stop a couple times and really think about what i was writing, but i never, ever, considered not writing it.

when it was done, i felt really good about the writing. i still feel that i could have made it much better than it was, but it is good as it is. it was writing, real writing, something that i've rarely accomplished in the past few years, and i felt good about it.

as it turned out, everyone had to read their story in class. i already knew this, i was sure of this when she first gave us the assignment, i was sure of this while i was writing. i was sure that, as a supposed creative writing class, i would view all stories first as stories (effectiveness of language, etc.), and second as real life experiences (or not). because of the content of my story, though, i wasn't sure that my writing would be criticized in an objective way, in relation to style and effectiveness, instead of just a big freak out.

and so i read. as is my nature, i didn't like being the center of attention, but after i started, got into the flow of it, i forgot that anyone was around me, listening to me. and i kept thinking, before, how i disliked the mode of repetition that i chose for this piece (i use repetition a lot in my style. it's just always been like that, and it works for my writing. at least i think so). cold night, hot night. i knew there was a reason, somewhere in my head, that i wrote it to begin with, that i didn't delete it in the rewriting. when i was reading it i remembered exactly. i had just come back from being raped by the physics exam, and i was cold. my fingertips were cold, and my nails (skin under my nails) were turning blue. the coldness ran throughout my body, and i started shaking. and when i got into the reading, got up to the switch, i could feel it. i could feel the cold turn instantly into heat, the heat in my face, in my chest, in my hands. it was such an awesome experience. and i felt good about the cold night/hot night repetition in my paper, because i could feel it. i finished reading, thinking that i came off pretty good, writing wise, and there was this dead silence. and it wasn't regular silence, i can deal with that, i feel quite comfortable with that, it was a loaded silence. like you can feel the air pressure in the room pushing on you with all the force of what other people are thinking. but no one was saying anything. just the customary "true?" from t and the hands that went up. and honestly that didn't surprise me at all. not at all. what surprised me was the speed in which it was all swept under the rug and they moved on. no criticism/comments from anyone. not even t.

and this is supposed to be a writing class?

and i went on like always. it was over, no one opted to bring it up with me. and honestly, that's what i like. writing is writing, we can have an intelligent conversation about it or take it as it is (writing) and go on like always. i don't like clouding the line between writing and reality.

i'll explain more on the writing vs. reality thing later, when it becomes more of an issue (which i'm sure it is).

come today. things were over, exams were practically over for me after wednesday, and i was feeling good.

here's your letter of recommendation, and ms. tapia wants to see you after exams.

and i automatically knew what it was about. and i figured that she'd be cool enough to talk to me before she took the issue to the next level. and she did.

i'm concerned about your short story. like that came as a shock (actually, it did throw me a little off. i was always in the way of thinking that writing was taken as writing by a creative writing teacher. but hey, go figure). what do i say? i don't talk about myself. i'm a listener, not a talker. but one of my rules is that if asked about something (reasonable, by a reasonable person), i will always tell the truth to the best of my ability.

[rant] i'm watching this little green bug walk across my screen . it's got these little suction feet, and it's cleaning its antennas one at a time, like a cat would, seeming like it's licking its feet and then wiping down each antenna to its end. it's got green transparent wings and a long thin body. what the hell kind of bug is this? anyway, it reminds me of a cat. i was about to smash the damn thing when it started acting like a cat. weird little thing. [/rant]

sorry. had to do that.

so, i did, while trying to talk as little as possible yet make her slightly understand so she wouldn't drag it out any longer than needed. she seemed sincere, as sincere as a teacher can be in a situation like this. i'm afraid that something might happen to you in the future. i know you are. you're afraid because if something did happen to me, you'll be the one who gets blamed. but trying to explain that nothing will ever happen to me in the way of suicide is a futile act. honestly, like she'd believe that i made a promise to myself to never do that and stick to it. because i could never keep my word like that. ugh. i'm getting sarcastic. back to the point. i'm sure that she is sincere to an extent, but just as she said she doesn't know me. and just as i tried to explain to her (in vain), no one can really understand anyone else. unless you could merge your soul with someone else's, i don't think it's possible to truly understand someone.

i wrote the story from my point of view. from what i felt at that time. it's only supposed to make total sense to me. other people won't know what i mean when i talk about noise in my head. about promises to myself. about instant gratification. about almost daily thoughts of death, mine, others', everyones'. about sensations. about control. about how the body doesn't exist. about how nothing exists. about the act itself. other people don't know the events leading up to, the idea behind, the reasoning, or the present thoughts about the act. and for the purposes of the story, they didn't need to know.

it seems the need to know thing has changed.

things i realized during the conversation with her: 1) objective people can really see my mood swings. i know they've been way out of hand for the past couple of years (which i'm pretty sure is because of the birth control pills and my whole hormone thing), but i figured i was pretty good about keeping things... even. apparently i'm visibly all over the place. at least in that class. 2) people have become more comfortable with crying for help for other people. instead of talking to the person first and seeing where they are, they head to authority. hey, i get that. they don't know me. people that do know me don't know me. i'd just like to get a little headstart before i start getting called into people's offices. 3) people view this as a symptom of a bigger problem. a problem. i've recently gotten over the whole "something's wrong with me" trip i've been on since seventh grade, and don't see any problem anymore. i just see me. this is me. it won't change. and sometimes i think i don't want it to change.

so, what now. i've been instructed to write, and rest, and see thirteen, and talk with her again after break. and then she'll decide if she's going to take this issue to the other authorities at school (as is her job). and i'm positive that that's going to happen, for the simple reason that i don't see anything wrong in the act. people see s.i. as a cry for attention, a cry for help. i just do it for myself. i'd rather not bring attention to myself, and i'm not asking for help. i wanted help a long time ago, and i'm over with that now. and so i can say, honestly, that i see nothing wrong with that. that it isn't a product of my "depression" (not my word). that it's just me. you tell that to a bunch of therapist nuts and "adults who care" and they just think you're in denial, and that by denying it you're crying out for help even more.

so i know where i'm going to be in the days after spring break. and i'm fine with it. yes, it's a big inconvenience. yes, they won't believe me. yes, my parents will be made aware of it. yes, it will totally obscure everything i was wanting for the next five months. basically, i'll have to become the center of attention and deal with it. but i'm going to be very honest about things, try to explain things as clearly as possible, and tell them exactly what i think about them (if it comes to it). i'm actually going to try and put this off as much as possible (six weeks of school, being busy with homework, "sorry i don't have time today", and flat out refusing to comply). i figure they're not going to want to kick out someone who's third in the class and only has one quarter left to graduate.

long rant. well, it had to be said. i think only two people from my cw class read this blog, so you know what i'm talking about. for you that don't, well, i might as well post it. let the chips fall where they may.

keep in mind, i'm doing this because i feel good about this writing, and a bit of understanding is needed for those who don't know what i'm talking about.

The Clarity of Pain

Cold night. She sits alone in her room thinking on the day, trying to shut out all the background sounds that seep under her door, trying to figure out which sounds are real and which come only from her head.

Cold night. She sits on her bed with her legs crossed under her, sits up straight with the palms of her hands facing up, the tips of her fingers cold. She can’t sleep. She’s tried laying down, staying still, relaxing, staying calm, but every new position brings an ache in her joints and a burning strain at the base of her skull, brings more noise and confusion.

Cold night. Confusion turns into frustration, anger, sadness. One emotion gives way to another, each one more powerful and soul shaking than the last. Thoughts race through her head, crashing together and gaining momentum like waves, leaving her weak and powerless.

Cold night. She feels the sting of tears on her cheeks, looks down to see that her open palms have turned to closed fists, nails digging into her skin. But it’s not enough, the noise is still there, the emotions slowly tear away her soul and mind bit by bit.

Her shallow breathing makes her sobs come in waves, first small and stifled, then full and hysterical when she has to gasp for air, body shuddering as she coughs and cries at the same time. She needs to make this stop. She can’t control any of the situations she’s in: what other people want her to do and want her to be, what she can wear and what she can say, what beliefs she’s allowed to own up to. She can’t control what emotions she feels and when she feels them, she can’t control the endless thoughts that zip through her mind every second that make it impossible to think or listen or remember or function. The only thing she can control anymore is her person.

Hot night. She stands up, heat pulsing through her body. She walks to her dresser and with a shaking hand reaches into her purse, fingers searching for the one thing that she knows can make the noise stop and let her get some peace, if only temporarily.

Hot night. She walks into the bathroom and shuts the door behind her. A wave of dizziness makes her grab the sides of the sink to brace herself so that she won’t fall. She looks into the mirror and sees a familiar face, a familiar expression, familiar tear stained cheeks. Same face that’s stared back at her too many times before. Too many times.

Hot night. She rolls up her sleeve past her elbow, working quickly. Her right hand holds the answer to her problems, and she’s going to fix them the fastest way she can. Right thumb slides out the top two razor blades and replaces the top one. Never use the first one, only the one after it. The second blade changes hands, the cardboard cover taken off.

Hot night. She takes a look into the mirror and back down to her arm. It would be so easy, so easy. One long cut down my arm, one deep cut, just add water, and all of this goes away forever. Shut up you idiot, you know you can’t do that. We’ve been over all this before. Before isn’t now. Before isn’t now, but do you really want to go back on your word like that? Just hurry up and get this over with and we can go to sleep.

Hot night. She wipes her sweating palms on the front of her pants. She raises her arm with the rolled up sleeve up and holds it out, clenching her hand into a fist. She brings the razor blade up to her arm and makes a horizontal slash. Red blood seeps out of the fresh cut. But there’s no pain. Another cut, and another, and another, all next to each other, all uniform. The pain finally starts to kick in as the blood starts to run slowly down her arm. But it’s not enough. Five, six, seven, at an angle to the rest, more reckless than usual. A wave of pain shoots through her body, and for a moment the pain is all she can feel. She focuses on it with all of her mind and soul, makes sure that she experiences every facet of the pain, the heat and the sting and throbbing sensation on her skin. The noise in her head stops, and she feels free from all emotion. She looks down at her red arm with a sense of peace and accomplishment.

Cold night. She washes the blood off her arm, watching the red streaks lighten and disappear under the steady stream of water. She covers the cuts with large bandages she bought for times like this. She looks into the mirror, looks at her eyes and the blank expression on her face, looks at the reflection of her wrapped arm, watches in the mirror as she rolls her sleeve back down.

Cold night. She opens the door of the bathroom and turns off the light. She walks across the living room and tells her parents good night, as if this night was just as calm and normal as most every night before. She walks to her room, climbs under the covers of her bed, and falls asleep.

but we loved with a love that was more than love

cripes and now i've been googling more poe stuff. and i really, really liked that research paper.

updated my blogroll and switched most people around, some by preference and some by if you update at any regular interval. but mostly it's just so i won't have to type in the url of each page that i want to visit.

and again, if you don't want the link, just tell me and i'll remove it.

ah yes, i added hibbity jibbity. which should actually be pecan sandies rock my world, but i didn't want to have to abbreviate it. so.

i've been pondering lately posting the story i had to write for creative writing. not funny, not amusing, not even that well written, considering how easy it should've been for me to write. and i was thinking about reading it in class, but i don't think i will. not because i'm afraid of anything or anyone's opinion of me, i actually feel that i can say most things i wouldn't even bring up with my friends in that class. but it's just that i don't think the class (as a whole. there are exceptions in individuals) would be on my same wavelength to appreciate it as a story, and not the "is it true??" question that will come from it. and i don't know if they'll actually react that way, everyone might be really mature with the whole thing (mature? more like calm). i don't know. i'll see how it goes tomorrow.

and here. well, i have a paranoia theory going on lately about this blog, but i've been too lazy to track the ip's coming in. basically i have a feeling that member(s) of my family have found this thing. and hey, it's public. it's the internet. you can find it through links. you can find it through google, although it's gonna take you a damn long time even if you do know what to google for (i've tried). i'm fine with it being public, but i'm not fine with my family treating me differently according to what i say in this blog. honestly, i have a problem with my family in general (honestly, i have a problem with people in general) knowing who i am and what i'm doing. i have an even bigger problem with them getting misinformation about who i am and how i'm feeling and what my plans are (and who my friends are) and what i'm doing. misinformation from my mother. because she doesn't know, and i'm at the point where i really don't want her to know who i am. ah, the dilemma.

so no posting the story (or story related things) until i get this resolved, or at least am more secure in my habitation and pending job.

it's getting harder waiting for the tattoo.

a thousand thoughts running through my head, and i just need to talk to you. i just need to write it down.

revolving life. in color.

my dad and my uncle are tearing up some more of the house. taking down a wall, putting up some sort of closet contraption thing. but hey, it doesn't affect my side of the house, so they can saw away all they please.

as far as i am concerned, i never left anywhere. actually, i don't want to deal with people talking to me with a little ticked off sound in their voice because i'm far from enthusiastic about this whole ordeal.

seriously, if my mother tries to talk to me again i think i will escape into santa fe for a few good hours.

and none of this is for you, but i haven't written in three days, and it's making me talk to myself now. and i don't like talking to myself. my mother talks to herself. um, yeah.

and now i've forgotten what i've been thinking for the past hour. i hate when this happens. i should just get started on the homework i have. off.

the ending of a life

i remember when it started.

drama club wasn't really a drama club, it was just cameron coming over to school (probably for credit for his theater major) and playing games with the small group of kids (most all of whom were speechies or future speechies). ms gregory didn't do anything except walk in the room a couple times because there has to be a school sponser for a club. meetings were never announced, if you were lucky you walked into the auditorium after school one day and saw that cameron was there. and then the performance, which consisted of endless duos and help, with maybe one rehearsal in the little rehearsal room at the college, which held the performance also. and yeah, it was fun, but it wasn't drama, it was speech.

and my mom saw that i really wanted to be a part of drama. sports were too much of a pain to participate in since i had so much homework and we lived out of town, so she decided to get back into drama, so that i (and people like me) would have someplace to go and something to do.

the first meetings we got the basic group: tim, natalia, dan, andy, catte, saraphia, jess, me. shortly thereafter we rounded out the group with alex, steph, matt, and paul. for the first play we put on the largest play we've ever done: our town. and we had to beg people to be in the play, especially guys, and we pulled it off, and it was awesome. our town bred the first drama inside joke (damn george!), as well as some friendships that have lasted though now.

our town was followed by rest assured (and the birth of mrs. shmaltz and dan as the devil), tim's last play. tim was the first senior from our initial group to graduate.

in the next year or so we adopted scar and peter into our group, followed by sarah's little brother mark and a little crazy squirt of a kid who wore awesome shoes and a shirt of a tuxedo (by far the coolest seventh grader we've ever adopted).

plays came and went, i went on a major recruiting binge in tenth grade, and then it was time. the last play ever with the seniors. and what play was it? rememberin stuff. i still have mixed feelings when i look back on that play, but andy, catte, and saraphia definitely made that play so much more awesome than i ever thought it could be. they knew it was their last play, and they worked for it, and did an awesome job.

dan wasn't in the last play, but it was ok, because he was in a production, a type of poetry production. i went to it with my mom, and was just blown away by the content of the minds of these performers. and i saw dan, this awesome, talented, funny, crazy guy, and remembered the shy quiet kid who played basketball with my brother in eighth grade. was that a transformation.

and then they were gone. i had a hard time with that, them leaving, me knowing i'd probably never see them again in my life. but memories are good, and i still have memories of the past them, and can still share some of those memories with a few people.

last year. the year of the junior high boom. there were more little children at that first meeting than i knew what to do with. insane? yes. especially when we all thought back on our town where we had to beg people to be in the play. i again went on a slight recruiting binge and procured a kyle and daivd for drama club. and they fit in in about two seconds. and so it was: we fortified our happy family of drama club.

and i think it's safe to say that the diary of anne frank made a big impact on all of us. more than any other play that we did at school. it was just right place, right time.

and then now. i remember thinking last night that i had to remember the name of the foundation i was using, and then realizing that no, i don't have to remember. i won't ever be doing this again. and that was it. i didn't feel sad about it. i remember missing the seniors that had graduated before, but now that i'm a senior i won't miss drama. and it's weird. drama has been my life for the past five years. drama is all that i do. but... i've never felt like a part of drama. just like i'm watching all these other awesome people develop strength and confidence and a place to belong, but i'm still in the background. and i saw that even more this year. i've been in drama for five years, but people don't know it. and i guess i'm fine with it now. i took drama seriously, but i'm not an actress. i don't have the mindset for it. i can figure out blocking, i know when you say a line, how you say a line, where you look, where you stand, how you turn, when to pause, how to fix upstaging, how to project, how to walk, how to pantomime, how to react, how to use your body to communicate what you mean. i know how to do that because i know what feels wrong, what looks wrong. it's like my only instinct. but i'm not supposed to act. i'm not drama, i'm not a legacy, i'm just routine and procedure.

and so i'm not sad that it's over. we've been building up to this point for five years. i just feel bad for the ones we're leaving behind. but i know they're in good hands.

and now on to other things. projects, stories, trips, exams. acceptance letter and full tuition scholarship, the reinforcement that i don't want to go anywhere, i don't want to do anything, i just want time to stop. the reinforcement that no, i'm not dead yet and no, i won't die anytime in the near future. the reinforcement that i have to go through the motions because other people are expecting me to. and that's a thousand dollars down the drain, to a place that i don't want to see and people i don't want to talk to, and classes i don't want to miss and confusion i don't want to put myself through. and i don't want to see it and hate it, and i don't want to see it and love it. and sometimes i wish that i had never applied. the only thing that saves me for now is that they haven't sent out acceptance letters yet.

and i don't like to think about the future, the future that doesn't exist. and i don't want to think about graduating and quite possibly never seeing my friends again in my life. but i do. and that's where it all came from. i love you. i've told that to you before and i'll tell it to you again. i love you, and i'll always love you, because that's what love is. but you're leaving. and some of you are already gone, have been gone for a few months. and you're a different person, a better person, as it is and as it should be. and the fact is, i'm me, and i've regressed a few lifetimes (even if i do progress a lifetime a week). and i want you to have a full and happy life, i want you to love people, to have people love you, to find someone who makes you happy and understands you. i want you to live.

i want you to live, but deep down i still don't.

and that's where it came from. where the letting go of relationships came from. i've depended on you to keep me sane, to keep me here (mentally and emotionally) for the past three years. and because of this i haven't had to cope with myself. and yes, i love you and will always love you, but even though i maintain these relationships, i won't be able to fully count on them. i won't be able to look into your eyes and have all the noise in my head stop, i won't be able to feel your aura when you walk into a room and feel safe. and frankly it terrifies me. and i figured that the only way to keep myself sane was to start disconnecting now, to start letting you go little by little so it won't be such a kick in the head when you aren't here.

and i have to be able to write. i have to be able to say this, to say what i'm thinking, to say everything the way i want to say it. to be able to write in my blog and my journal and still mean it afterwards. "... but writing, writing i can put down all my thoughts and feelings as i come to them, i can go off on tangents and write everything that i mean, that i feel, that i'm unsure of. and it's all there. no forgetting or getting confused. and it can be read and read again, expanded on and explained as much as i need to. i can get my soul down, get the noise out of my head. when i can't write i can't fully express myself, which ultimately means that i can't fully understand myself, even if i am happy and content in the moment. but i overlooked one huge thing. if i'm content, if i'm happy, if i feel other people in my relationships and don't have any question about it, then i will be able to write. it will all fit into place, and it will be pure. a blue moment within itself." and i wrote this, and i meant it in the lifetime that it was, after thinking on what i wrote before and what i meant, on why i need to write. and i read it now and think about it. when i am happy, when i'm content, in theory, writing should be no problem. but when i think back on it, it's actually the other way around. when i can write, then i can be content. and all i seem to write about is death, pain, confusion, time, sleep, pure emotion and pure feeling, all the noise in my head. and i've been writing about that for years. and i think that's just who i am. i can't write about stereotypical happy cheery things because they don't move me, they aren't true to me. and for me, that's fine. i'd rather write about death and pain and pure emotion, because i feel wrapped up in it sometimes. and in truth, i like the feeling of something pure, even if it is pain and darkness and death, because it's pure.

and that thought alone makes me feel that i'm different from people. not all people, because i'm positive that there are people like me out there. and i feel fine about that. i've learned that that's who i am, and i don't expect other people to understand me or try to understand me. when i can write, i understand me. when i can't write... well, i indulge in other acts that get the same feelings out. which i think is fine for me, but again other people might not understand it, and i don't expect them to.

and i don't know if you'll understand this, understand what i'm trying to say or what i think i'm trying to say. but dialogue is good, it sets up points of explanation. and i'm willing to explain as long as i can, if you still want to understand.

update

i haven't been able to get on the net because a few days ago ie crashed. and yes ie is our only browser, so we were pretty much screwed. my dad downloaded the newest patch on ie 6 today off some other computer, and we installed it here. needless to say, it would still crash. well, not so much crash as it wouldn't show up in our program files. so after about an hour of searching, i found an ie file, tried to open it, crashed again, followed internal link on the "send error report" thing on the chance that maybe, just maybe the browser might open up. it did. followed internal link to pestpatrol, finally found the evil winshow files on my computer, deleted the bastards, and here i am now, able to get back on the net.

this whole ordeal has confirmed yet again why i hate windows so much.

will post sometime in the next week or so, but i must download all the windows updates right now so as to keep this kind of shit from happening so often.

that and i have some sort of application thing that i have to have in by march 1st.

this was not a post, just an update. a, non-post, if you will.

that is all.

when all i can dream of is you

here's the deal:

i started writing because it was the only way i could escape my reality. i didn't want to hear it anymore, be in the middle of it, i didn't want to have to deal with it at all. so i read constantly, and when i wasn't reading i was writing. fiction. because that way at least i get to control the world inside my head, put it down on paper where i could marvel over something that no one else understands, has any idea what i mean or why i did it, but to wonder how the hell this little shy girl had such a fantastic and slightly morbid imagination.

i started reading less on my own and stopped writing altogether when i got to st mike's. why? i don't know. i was miserable and pissed off and couldn't do a thing to change my situation. i was forced to soak in reality daily, to live in it and deal with it and accept it. and one night i just snapped. and i can remember it exactly, i was alone in the house at night, blaring busted, sitting on the couch with my notebook and a pen, and i just started writing. and i kept going, and going, with the song on repeat and my legs crossed under me and my pen raging on the paper, small words, very small words written in my real handwriting at the time. i always write small when i really mean it. and then i looked at what i wrote and it was exactly how i felt. it wasn't finished, it still isn't. a thought just hanging in midair that i can never get back, and believe me i've tried. and i don't know what it was that hit me then, but i know that as horrible as i felt, everything was right with reality because i could write something down.

i have five spiral notebooks now in my collection that i keep by my bed so i can tell exactly if anyone touches it. all of them are filled with at least one poem, one has the original drafts of all the poems from my poem book in tenth grade. and i have two spirals on top of the trapper keeper that holds the rest, ones that i've procured from old schoolwork in the past couple years, spirals that i've tried to write in. both hold one insomniac revelations, both hold one story, one finished and one not, one has two poems. in all 36 poems (28 being from the poem book, 16 of them being valid), two insomniac revelations, two stories. I have one small dark blue unlined journal that i've written most of my decent things in since nov 2002. one dream, six pure writings, three of which i've posted in the past year.

i have a creative writing journal now, black sketch book, that couldn't be pure black (which should have been my first warning) so i put the hridaya on the front.

i have two blogs, the first one being an addition to my original website, when everyone thought blogs were stupid and i was a freak for liking it so much. i publicized the first one, and got horrible results. it was, just as i wanted it, an addition to my website, filled with meaningless crap about what i was learning about html and flickerstick rantings and other things about how i was having a hard time with my computer. and then i wanted to actually write on my blog. but i couldn't because i had already given the address to too many people (including a couple members of family). so i made this. and it was pretty much what i was feeling, avoiding particulars and getting deep down into the meaning of things, like how i ideally wanted to write. scatter in twenty or so pure posts and that's been how it's been.

with blogs it's always been the understanding that it's better to post now than to wait, that you post even if you have nothing to post about. that is, if you have the time. some people do that extremely well. some people can wait days or weeks between posts and it's ok, because the writing is good, at least has some thought put into it.

my theory for the past two or three years has been that if i write enough, even if most of it is really crap, i'll get some really decent posts, some pure thoughts and feelings. and for the most part it's proved to be true. this blog is filled with so many bad posts, and a few really awesome ones, ones that are my goal.

i got into creative writing with the knowledge that i'd have to do journal writing every day. and i wanted that. i wanted to write every day, to force myself to filter through all the confusion in my head and explore a thought completely. to be able to get back to the point where i'm not hiding and i'm not censoring myself from other eyes. to get back to the point where i don't care.

it hasn't happened how i wanted it to, that should have been a warning to me the moment i thought of it, planning ahead, no matter what, never works out. all we've basically been allowed to do is write on topics, topics that mean nothing and are more junior high than anything substantial. that and i've been writing around 10:30 at night, and i've been tired almost to the point of breakdown the majority of the time lately. i've stopped writing on the topics that she's given us, thinking that maybe i'll be able to write. all i've been able to do is write about how i can't seem to write. that and death, but i've been writing about death for years now. and now that whole journal is tainted with fake writings that are assignments, and daily writing isn't going to help me at all.

i go through extremes, sure. i'm not really content in anything anymore, not that i was content before, more like i was just trying to ignore reality even though i was trying to live in it. the fact is, i can't write on my blog when my family is around, just like it feels with nails on a chalkboard when they touch me. writing on paper is so pure and true that to write anything fake makes me feel horrible. i write in a few pages in a spiral notebook, and then move on to another one months or years later, a spiral for different lives. a blue journal that i've hated yet seems to be the only place where i can write pure. a blogosphere that i don't want to be a part of anymore, because every little troll with no respect for anyone can flame people they don't even know. and i'm not in the middle of any of them, it happens every day outside the computer world, but because i've been so caught up in this whole thing for two years now it makes me feel so, jaded. to the point where i want to disappear. and i might, i've been contemplating it for the past couple of months, every time i see more anonymous comments and trolls and plagiarism and fake people (as in people that don't exist) and people accusing others of being fake people.

i've tried to come out of myself, let people see me, speak my mind and participate in discussions and be a part of life, at least a semi-social one. i've been to the other extreme, and i felt totally alone. now i've tried this extreme, and still feel totally alone, and i think that's worse than trying to be totally alone. i've tried the middle way (oh my research paper is running through my head right now, and it makes my head hurt because i believe in it), or at least i've tried to try the middle way, but straddling two different universes (universi) makes the noise so much worse.

i've put myself out there more than i ever have, and i feel nothing. there's no release, no contentment, nothing. i'm not paranoid about anything really anymore, because i just don't care. i'm only seriously paranoid about the one thing, and that's only because most all people in authority don't understand and will definitely use it against me. my friends, i'd like to think they wouldn't freak, because i wouldn't freak, but it creates a line of question and mistrust that kills a person. and i'm keeping it from them, not because i'm afraid, but because i don't want to have to deal with it. i'm at the point right now where i don't want people to know who i am, because it does nothing for me.

and right now i feel that i have to let go of these relationships. i can't feel you anymore, i can't feel anyone anymore, and it's not fair to hold on to something that you have to let go of in the end. everything is transient, and i shouldn't get attached to anything or anyone. i have, and it's not right.

i hate looking into the future, because it doesn't exist, but i have to now, i have no choice. and the fact is that i have to change back to be able to survive with any sort of sanity. i have to be able to write, but i can't write meaningless things anymore.

i'm not trying to live a happy and content life. i'm not looking to live a full life with companions and lovers and meaningful work and improving the world. i'm looking to make the noise in my head go away, and if i can't do that, at least be able to write the noise down. i can't do that right now, so something has to change, and the only thing i can change is me.

like the darkness of sleep

i don't know what the hell i'm doing.

i just got home about half an hour ago to find my house completely empty. everyone's gone, no note and no message on the answering machine. i'd call my mom's cell except that i don't really care that much about where they went. and i figure if someone's dying they'd at least leave a message on the answering machine. so.

making blog rounds, found this link: be my anti-valentine. sorry kyle. just reinforces my thought that every original idea has already been publicized.

this past week was beyond pointless, but i did get in some decent stream of consciousness writing, even though most of it was about how i haven't been able to write in over six months.

found out about the meta summer bridge program and now i figure i'd be better off just keeping the three weeks and working for that time. i'll make less money (probably), but i don't want to deal with it, and being at state will just make this damn choice even harder.

yes yes, no real writing, but the truth is anything i have to say (or have been wanting to write about for the past week) will no doubt get me in some sort of trouble. i haven't talked to anyone really in a long time, and i don't know if that's a really bad thing or a good thing, but anyway i'm starting to disconnect, which i guess was the goal anyway.

i HATE doyle

if anyone knows where my agenda is, if i left it at school, tell me.

also, if anyone knows my english homework and any other homework that i have to do tonight (excluding physics) please tell me.

the losing of my agenda now means that i will probably have to attend school tomorrow.

in fact, it absolutely means that i have to go to school tomorrow.

i really, really, really hate you doyle.

seraphine

i just finished watching underworld a few minutes ago. i was thinking about vampires last night. i've been on a vampire trip for a while now, that and the crow. unnaturally into the crow and vampires, even more than i was when this all first started, whoever knows how long ago.

just when i'm allowed to start writing again, i can't. i figured this whole thing would jump start me back into writing, but it's the same thing all over again. i can't write what i want, i have to abide by rules and formulas. set topics and the constraints of words are always what end up killing it. i just need a week of sleep, a week of darkness and solitude, rain and wind, despair and agony. being content kills my desire for life, slaps away my desire for death. and both are needed in order for me to be able to write anything with substance down.

i need a new form of intoxication.

follow up

i didn't intend on posting today. my brain is fried from the research paper, and i still have to do the physics labs. but i had to check my blogs today, just because i'm compulsive like that.

kyle posted a link on his blog a couple weeks ago: bush in 30 seconds. i never watched the entries or the winner because i didn't want to bother with it on my 56k modem, but i will eventually.

anyway, connor posted a letter from MoveOn.org, about the winning entry of bush in 30 seconds, how cbs wouldn't allow them to purchase a timespot in the superbowl. also posted an article about the whole thing.

i just thought it was a good follow up to the whole thing.

i'd say more, but as i said my brain is fried.

and i totally didn't mean to use that many links.
